Yeha was a pre- Axumite center of culture and technology , which is located to the northeast of Axum . It emerged around 100BC. It reached its peak of glory around 750 BC. Yeha was the center of civilization before the rise of Axum. Remains of the walls of some of its building and stone masonry as well as the still standing temple indicates Yehas glory. Ancient south Arabian merchants used to store their goods at this town. An important inscription was found in Yeha written in the name of one of the rulers of the kingdom of DAMAT.
